A Texas teen who was arrested and charged in the murder of his 16-year-old girlfriend was released from jail Wednesday morning after posting his $250,000 bond, according to court documents obtained.
Frank Deleon, 17, was arrested Monday in the murder of Diamond Alvarez who was shot 22 times last week after she learned of her boyfriend’s affair.
Investigators said Alvarez was killed after learning that Deleon was in a romantic relationship with another girl and agreeing to meet him at a park near her home.
Deleon, who is being charged as an adult, appeared in court on Tuesday. Prosecutors said that Deleon appeared to be planning to leave for an extended time and had a suitcase packed at the time of his arrest.
Deleon’s bond was set at $250,000.
“He doesn’t deserve a bond. I don’t think so,” Alvarez’s mother, Anna Machado said. “I don’t think that’s right. I don’t care if he had no priors. I don’t care. Whatever he did, the way he executed my daughter, and he’s walking the streets like nothing and mocking people. What kind of animal is that?”
Per his bail conditions, Deleon must remain in Harris County, submit to GPS monitoring, have no contact with Alvarez’s family, and must refrain from going within 200 feet of a residence, school, or place of employment.
It was not clear he has retained an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
An online fundraiser has been set up to help Alvarez’s family pay for funeral expenses. According to the page, a public viewing will be held Thursday evening at the Forest Lawn Cemetery followed by a funeral service the following morning at the same location.
The Judge must be crazy to allow this kid out on the streets.
Progressive left-wing judges confuse the perpetrators with the victims. Victims have no voice. We must speak up for them. Inundate your state legislators and attorney General w/calls & emails.
Are you kidding me? Where did he get money to apply for the bail?
So sorry for the girl’s family.
Well, it is generally 10 percent and this teen is probably illegal so maybe the Vice President bailed him out.
Does the state statute set this limit? This guy had his bag packed for an escape to avoid prosecution. That, to me, is a clear indication he is a flight risk. I hope the Prosecutor files an appeal on the bond and put the accused back in jail.
Well he has, ” I’m JUMPING BAIL ” wrote all over his face, and that judge knows it. A pos judge
Exactly!!! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!
And this happened in Texas?
How did that judge get elected?
he will be back in Mexico in no time ?
Maybe the kid has connections to a drug cartel to get that money for the bond ???
EXCUSE ME?! HE SHOOTS HIS GIRL FRIEND 22 TIMES AND HE’S RELEASED ON “BOND?” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
He should not be out on bail at any price
What judge would give anyone a bond who kills someone. This is crazy so if he goes and kills someone else the judge state attorney and his attorney should be changed
I should have read my comment it should have said. The judge. States attorney and who ever is his attorney should be charged if he kills anyone else . Or leave the country. No one should have a bond if they take another person’s life
The judge who let him out should be shot, once, idiot, must be a democratic sppointment.
OMGosh ! What a Horrifying Foolish thing to do and this Judge was clearly Bias ! Let the kid go free to PACK UP AND LEAVE just as he had planned ! If he’s not already gone then it will be soon. There is no way his family will let their Murdering Son go to prison or get the Death Penalty ! He will serve no time or punishment ! That GPS monitor will fit nicely around the neck or leg > of one of the neighborhood Kids or Dogs. . .I foresee the deep dark part of >> South America having one more Cold-BLOODED KILLER added to their Population! This Decision had to be a “LIBERAL JUDGE” ! Anyone that places a $$$ Bet on this would be a Winner. . . . .
WHATS WRONG WITH THESE TX. JUDGES??? YOU LET A KILLER OUT ON BOND AND HE ALREADY HAD A SUITCASE PACKED ND HE WAS READY TO TAKE OFF??? WHATS TO KEEP HI,M FOR TAKING OFFF NOW????????
The Judge that granted him a bond should serve time in his place, What is it with these so called Judges
He obviously has connections ‽‽ Where did that bail money come from‽‽ That young lady he MURDERED doesn’t have a life!! Yet that POS just carries on like nothing HAPPENED!!
Bring back JUSTICE in this country. Because these CRIMINALS are getting by with murder!!
Only in AMERICA, where CRIMINALS get IDOLIZED For their actions- So FREAKING SAD!!
This IS the reason our justice system is failing! No consequences. The DA is a sociopath for allowing this. And this is why I no longer go to Houston. Was there weekly but no more and no more of my money goes there.
Seems as though he was packed and heading to Mexico! Is he a legal resident of the US? Too many violent acts being committed by non residents and they are not prosecuted even if they are apprehended! Legal system is a JOKE to allow his release.
