Years of alleged sexual abuse seems to have caught up with a former youth softball coach in Alabama this week.
It was confirmed Meagan Billingsley Deese, 30, was arrested by the Hoover Police on Wednesday.
Deese is charged with first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, and enticing a child to enter a vehicle, house, etc. for immoral purposes.
It was unclear Friday if she had been asked to enter pleas.
Deese posted $90,000 for her bond, and could not be reached for comment Friday.
Information on her attorney was unavailable.
A statement from Hoover Police alleges that an adult female came forward on Feb. 14, and reported being abused by Deese.
According to the Hoover Police Department, a woman made a report on Feb. 14 claiming she had been “subjected to unwanted sexual contact” by a coach on her softball team when she was a juvenile. Police said the alleged abuse occurred over a span of two to three years but stopped in 2016. Detectives launched an investigation and recently obtained warrants charging Deese in connection with their probe.
According to the University of Alabama-Huntsville Athletics website, Deese played outfield for the Chargers from 2010 through 2013 after graduating from Shelby County High School in Columbiana.
Hoover Police suspect there could be additional victims that have yet to come forward and released a statement that any other victims should not be afraid to report if they were also a victim.
