A popular high school teacher is being mourned this week in Pennsylvania after she was fatally shot by a neighbor who then turned the gun on himself.
A statement from Spring Garden Township Police confirms authorities first received calls about a shooting near Erin Walker’s home at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.

At least one caller told dispatchers there was a female victim shot outside of her home.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered two people with apparent gunshot wounds,” reads the statement. “One was found to be deceased, and the other was transported by ambulance to York Hospital for treatment.”
According to police, Walker, a 36-year-old single mother, died at the hospital on Sunday. Her killer, 59-year-old neighbor Daniel Berry, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner said Walker’s 59-year-old neighbor, Daniel Berry, shot her during a dispute and then shot and killed himself.
According to information released from the York County coroner, they were notified that Walker was taken to York Hospital after the incident and died from her injuries.
Part of the incident was captured by doorbell cameras.

The shooting apparently took place behind their adjoining homes, after Berry confronted Walker.
Neighbors said Berry and his elderly mother moved to the neighborhood last November. Walker and Berry were arguing over an unauthorized garage expansion he had completed near a shared alleyway.
Walker had been a beloved teacher at Central York High School, according to Central York Superintendent Peter Aiken.
“It is with tremendous sadness that I must share with you that Miss Erin Walker, a social studies teacher and student advisor at Central York High School and a Central York faculty member for the last 13 years, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022,” reads the statement. “We are deeply saddened by the loss, and our heartfelt sympathies are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.”
The statement from Aiken concludes: “Miss Walker touched the lives of hundreds of students during her years of service in Central York. We feel fortunate for the time we have spent with her. She was a tremendous teacher and an outstanding person, and we are very saddened by her loss.”
Erin Walker is survived by her three-year-old daughter and her parents. Right now, I am told that the child is in the custody of the grandparents. Counselors are being made available for students and staff at the high school as the mourning process continues.
Another useless killing! Over a garage!!
How sad! Now, a three year old is
motherless. May God be with her family🙏
Wait for it. Blame democrats and mental health instead of guns. 🙄
I usually don’t comment but after forty-two years in law enforcement and security here goes…guns don’t kill people ….people kill people. Bad decisions either with a gun, a vehicle or any or means of deadly force cause death and we haven’t banned cars yet. Mental health issues are the most common cause if deadly encounters like this one. Several years as a homicide detective proved that to me.
AMEN Dan!!
AMEN Dan, you are correct. This country has been fighting illegal narcotics for decades and we have more drugs in this country today then ever. If anyone is foolish enough to think banning guns will solve this problem they are badly mistaken. Gun bans will only allow the outlaws to have guns and they will have a field day with an unarmed population. This crazy lunatic Ramos had exhibited mental issues so why in the hell wasn’t this reported to authorities so he would not pass a background check for firearms. Background checks are only as good as the information they are fed. The democrats have always not wanted mental issues reported due to the stigma that it places on a family and the privacy laws this so called government has passed to prohibit their reporting. This ball is in their court now.
