An Ohio father has been charged in the death of his 1-year old child, whom he left in a hot car on purpose for hours.
Landon Parrot, 19, brought his unresponsive child into the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital on Thursday, New Philadelphia Police Chief Michael Goodwin said in a statement.
Police were notified of the incident, and during an interview with detectives, Parrot supposedly gave conflicting statements about what happened.
After authorities gathered additional information and evidence, investigators confronted Parrot. “He confessed to detectives what had happened to his son,” Goodwin said.
“The child was left alone in a car for five hours, while temperatures outside were around 87 degrees Fahrenheit,” according to Goodwin. “The father indicated to police that the act was intentional, but he didn’t want the child to be a disturbance in the house.”
Parrot is charged with murder, two counts of endangering children, and involuntary manslaughter.
He is being held in the Tuscarawas County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Poor little innocent baby.
What a monster for a father!
He should never see the outside of a prison
for the remainder of his miserable life!
I agree!
Agree!
People please. If you don’t want your child after it’s born, give it up for adoption or to someone who wants a child but can’t have one naturally or even surrender said child to a fire department or a hospital but please stop killing kids just because they are a nuisance to your life! Babies are the most precious things in this world, give them a chance for God’s sake
EXACTLY!! Heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking!! Fortunately, this man is on his way to hell!
Involuntary manslaughter is not exactly what I would call it. He said the baby was left in the car intentionally on a hot day for five hours. I consider that first degree murder.
he should be charged with voluntary manslaughter, not involuntary manslaughter.
Knowing what he was doing was murder. he left that innocent child in the car for 5 hours. However, he will be sentenced of murder and second-degree child cruelty. This should be 1st degree murder.
The problem with our judicial system is, they give more constitutional rights to the perpetrator. I say this, because more than likely he will do just about what every murder case does; plead insanity which will prolong the trial and he will be ruled he was competent to stand trial. He knew was he was doing. So many people are childless and long for a child of their own, then there are monsters like this. Our laws are NOT strict enough.
