During a drug bust at a Jefferson County, Ohio home, Mingo Junction Police made an arrest after eight children were found amongst drugs and guns.
Britney Alvis was arrested on child endangerment charges and is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
Police also have a warrant for the arrest of her boyfriend, Eulis “punchy” Curenton for child endangerment, drug trafficking, as well as having a weapon under disability.
Police seized crack cocaine, firearms, and other items related to the sale of illegal drugs.
They say this arrest isn’t a shocking surprise to their department.
“For several months, our departments has received several complaints about this particular residence, that cars were coming to and from all day, all times of the night. And they were just concerned that drugs were possibly being sold out of the residence,” Mingo Junction Police Chief Willie McKenzie said.
As far as the eight children are concerned, police say they are safe in the care of relatives. A search warrant still remains for Curenton, as he is not yet in custody.
This case remains under investigation.
Why only charge the boyfriend with the drugs? If the woman was there why not charge her for the drugs and guns as well. If the guy has a disability and is getting government benefits but can sell drugs apparently his disability isn’t as bad as someone claims. So why doesn’t he get get kicked off the benefits?
