A naked suspect in a Tulsa apartment clubhouse burglary broke from their custody, jumped into a pond and drowned early Thursday.
Tulsa police said, “Officers answering a 4:30 a.m. burglary alarm at the Shoreline Apartments Clubhouse, discovered the front door shattered and a naked man inside with his wet clothing thrown across the room.”
Officers handcuffed the man, who at first cooperated, but then suddenly broke from them. The man then kicked open a back door, climbed over a patio railing, and jumped into a pond.
Officers jumped into the water after him, but the man failed to resurface.
A while later, a dive team found the mans body in 10 feet of chilly and murky water.
Authorities reported they are not releasing the man’s identity until they can notify his family members.
