A woman from Georgia is being accused of chocking and nearly killing a 1-year old child while babysitting.
According to Gainesville Police Department, Abby Elizabeth Chosewood, 23, was charged with felony cruelty to children and felony aggravated assault.
Chosewood was not charged immediately after the incident took place in February because there were unfortunately no nanny cams to capture the crime. This has led the investigation team to work relentlessly for months to accrue enough evidence to back the child’s parents accusations.
Chosewood was being held in the Hall County Jail, but was released on bond on Monday. She received two years probation at the time of her release.
Lt. Kevin Holbrook of the Gainesville Police said, “It is unthinkable and there is nothing for us to go on exactly why this did happen. This is something that we may never know, as the child obviously is too young to tell us the truth. But obviously, Chosewood knows exactly what happened and hopefully, it’ll come out in court.”
