A California woman was accused of hosting alcohol-fueled sex parties for her son and his friends after she was caught searching online for good books with young sex, hot 16-year old teenage girls, and other content that sexualized teens.
Shannon O’Connor, 49, of Los Gatos, was arrested in Oct. 2021 and charged with a slew of offenses including sexual assault and providing alcohol to minors for allegedly hosting the parties.
Police claim O’Connor attempted to keep the parties a secret, but was eventually busted.
She encouraged sex acts among the teens, who ranged in age from 13 and 16 years old, and sometimes watched as well. The parties took place between June of 2020 and Feb. 2021.
She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed motions with new information about the case ahead of an upcoming preliminary hearing on Nov. 6.
Court documents confirmed by the DA’s office, show that Google searches including “good books with young sex,” “hot 16 (year) old teenage girls” and “prettiest 16 year old girl” were found on her phone.
Her phone also had multiple videos that appeared to have been downloaded from TikTok and other social media applications. The videos show young girls who appear to be underage.
The girls in the videos were dressed in revealing clothing and made statements to the camera.
“There is no evidence that the girls in these videos were personally known to defendant,” the documents also state.
Later in 2021, O’Connor moved to Idaho. When O’Connor was arrested there in October 2021, she had been accused of hosting a sleepover for 12 underaged teens.
During a hearing in April, some of O’Connor’s alleged teen victims and their parents claimed in court that O’Connor lured them to her home for wild parties through social media and her two teenaged sons.
Her teenage party guests were allowed to drink and have sex for her own sexual gratification. She would ask the teens to keep quiet about the parties and even lie to their parents if they were questioned.
O’Connor “bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit.
When O’Connor moved, she “continued these parties in Idaho,” an alleged victim’s mother told the judge in April.
“She’s a very sick individual and a sexual predator. She taught our daughter how to drink like a rock star. She was only 14, had never had alcohol and never had a boyfriend. It’s disgusting to me,” the mother said.
On multiple occasions, O’Connor urged intoxicated minors into sexual situations, even watching and laughing as “a drunk teen sexually battered a young girl in bed” during a New Year’s Eve party.
In another case, O’Connor brought an intoxicated male teen into a bedroom where a drunk 14-year-old girl was lying in bed.
After the girl was assaulted, police say the girl asked O’Connor, “Why did you leave me in there with him? Like why did you like do that? Like you knew like what he was going to do me.”
O’Connor supposedly threw the parties without the knowledge of her now-estranged husband, who has since filed for divorce.
