An Oregon man walked into an Oregon City police station to confess to fatally shooting his wife and killing her.
The Oregon Police Department reported that Anthony Wessel, 41, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, 37-year-old Anna Wessel.
Anthony allegedly told officers that the killing occurred inside the family’s Oregon City home.
Authorities immediately rushed to the home, where they found Anna dead. Upon further investigation, no one else was found inside the home.
Prosecutors confirmed in court that Anna died from two gunshot wounds to the head.
According to police, Anthony is currently being held at the Clackamas County Jail.
The couple had been married for 18 years and not much was released on the type of marriage they had with each other.
A GoFundMe launched by Anna’s loved ones states she leaves behind children who will be staying with family members during this time.
“She was well loved and cherished by her family, friends, coworkers and community,” the fundraising page states.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Oregon City Police Department tip line at 503-905-3505 and reference case #23-023587.
