An attempted carjacking in Maryland was foiled when the car the suspects tried to steal turned out to be a stick shift.
The incident that took place in Bethesda, Maryland when two male suspects approached a man and demanded his keys.
The Montgomery Department said, “The suspects entered the man’s car and they weren’t able to drive it. Apparently, they had no knowledge on how to drive a stick shift.”
The unidentified suspects then fled the scene.
The victim, who ran away, told police he heard a gunshot, but no shell casings were found.
A dashcam video found during the investigation captured the incident. It shows at least three individuals exit a red SUV, before one gets in the car they attempted to steal. The car was reported to be a Porsche and the man inside was pointing a gun and waving it around.
