A woman in Pennsylvania has been accused of torturing multiple animals for social media likes on the YouTube platform.
Anigar Monsee, 28, was arrested on Jan. 19 and charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after the Upper Darby Police Department was notified of the YouTube channel by the animal rights organization PETA.
Monsee is accused of torturing and killing living animals such as rabbits, chickens, frogs and pigeons in the videos she posted online in the past year.
Authorities stated that Monsee would seek and ask for more likes before she would proceed to hurt the animals. Some of her comments were even deemed sexually explicit by authorities.
Once PETA received a tip about the videos being posted to the account, they contacted Upper Darby police. Once taken into custody, police say Monsee quickly admitted to the animal abuse.
According to YouTube’s community guidelines, animal abuse content is not permitted.
A YouTube spokesperson said, “Content that is violent or abusive toward animals is not allowed on YouTube, and we have terminated the channel in question.”
“The best we can do is just to honor them by making sure this kind of behavior does not continue, and that more animals aren’t made victims,” Kristen Rickman, a spokesperson for PETA.
Monsee was expected in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 5 and is currently still waiting for her verdict.
These kinds of crazy, sick crimes didn’t happen when Trump was president. Just saying.
