Residents of Ohio were asked to lock their doors and to stay alert after a convicted killer, who was found guilty of a horrific double murder in 2016, is on the loose after escaping prison on Monday.
Bradley Gillespie, 50, was last seen on surveillance footage at the Allen/Oakwood Correctional Institution (AOCI) in Lima around 8:41 a.m. Monday.
Gillespie, who was sentenced to two consecutive 15 year-to-life terms in the slaying of two people found shot in the head, was then absent during a prisoner count on Tuesday.
Another inmate, James Lee, 47, who was in on burglary and safecracking charges, was also reported missing from the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution.
Police warned the public that both men were dangerous men and should not be approached under any circumstances.
A $21,000 reward was offered for information leading to their capture.
Early Wednesday morning, investigators shared that Lee had been apprehended in Hendersonville, Kentucky.
Local authorities are now searching for Gillespie, who remains at large. Residents were advised to lock their doors and call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
Gillespie, originally of Defiance, was found guilty of the murder of Hannah Fischer, 21, and her boyfriend Frank Tracy, Jr., 47, in Sept. 2016.
At the end of his brief trial, loved ones of the victims told the outlet that “justice was served for Hannah and Frank.”
