A Houston, Texas man was found alive with cuts and bruises all over his body, after he vanished as a teenager 8 years ago.
Rudy Farias, now 25-years old, was reported missing in 2015 and is now miraculously reunited with his family.
Farias went missing when he was 17-years old and disappeared while he was walking his two dogs near his family’s home.
According to the Texas Center for the Missing, Farias’ dogs made it back home, but he never returned. This alerted his family to report to the police that something was definitely wrong.
“My son is now in the hospital after good Samaritans called 911 when they spotted him outside a church unresponsive,” his mother said. “He had cuts and bruises and blood in his hair.”
His mother also confirmed that her son was in “bad shape” mentally and physically, but she was extremely grateful to have him back.
At the time of his disappearance, he suffered from depression, PTSD and anxiety.
“It is possible he is disoriented as he has not been taking his medication,” the organization said back then as it launched a search for Farias.
Years before he went missing, his brother was killed in a motorcycle crash, the family said in 2015.
“He watched his best friend die right in front of him,” Brenda Paradise, a private investigator hired by the family, said in 2015.
“How did this happen? We believe in miracles and this certainly was a miracle,” Texas EquuSearch director, Tim Miller, said. “I can’t even tell you how many times we searched and how many leads and tips came in and they just kind of faded away and now all of a sudden, this.”
Miller also said there are a lot of questions swirling now that Farias has returned.
“There’s a lot to investigate to kind of see what happened, where it happened, how it happened,” he said.
Authorities did not initially believe foul play was involved when he went missing.
More information about his disappearance was not immediately known Sunday night.
