A Virginia woman is being charged of sexually abusing twin teenage boys, who lived across the street from her Chesapeake home, after her husband walked in on her.
Ashleigh Watts, 37, was charged with three counts of indecency with a minor after she had sexual contact since June 2022 with one of the teens.
The crime was brought to the attention of the authorities after a neighbor contacted 911. The neighbor reported to a dispatcher that Watts had ben having sexual relations with the 15-year old twin brothers.
According to the police report, back in February, Watts’ husband had come home around 2 a.m. to find his wife topless on the couch with one of the teens, who was pretending to be asleep.
However, the teen claimed he told his parents he went to Watts’ house to smoke marijuana and fell asleep, denying any sexual contact.
Despite the teens’ initial claim, he then later told his father that he had sex with Watts multiple times.
The teen also told another neighbor that he had been in a sexual relationship with Watts since June 2022 and they were in love. Watts also supposedly told this same neighbor that when the teen turned 17, she would marry him.
Police said, “After the contact between Watts and the minors was discovered, the teen boy ran away from his home last month. We eventually found him hiding in Watts’ bedroom three weeks later on July 26.”
“The boys twin brother has told us that Watts would give him pairs of her underwear and offer him marijuana. She would also touch him inappropriately, but he claims that he told her to stop. It never reached a point past touching,” continued the police spokesperson. “Miss Watts actually showed up to the door and asked us to wait outside while she put a bra on when we arrived at her home to find the boy.”
The boy was only wearing his boxers and was immediately taken into custody of Chesapeake Juvenile Services. When police questioned him about his relationship with Watts, the teen told authorities the mom-of-two promised to leave her husband and run away with him when he turned 17 years old.
Watts’ husband and one of the boys’ parents told authorities their families at one time were ‘very close friends’ to the extent that ‘each house had an open door rule where the family members between both families would come and go out of the other’s residence.
The twins’ parent said, “It is a common occurrence for my twins to be at the Watts’ house because Ashleigh and her husband have a son that’s close in age to my boys.”
The boys’ parents and the jilted spouse filed a protective order against Watts after her arrest. The husband’s protective order affidavit described large amounts of cash, marijuana and a prepaid cell phone found after her arrest.
Watts’ Facebook page shows a smiling Watts with her family during their trips to Disney, going to the beach, playing miniature golf, swimming, enjoying a barbecue, with the family dog and photos from a previous trip to New York City.
In a post on July 2016, she captioned a photo of her husband and son on a ball field, with the words: “Sometimes it’s the little things in life that count… Love this pic of my boys,” with a heart emoji and her husband’s name Andy Watts.
Watts was apprehended and arrested on August 17 and is awaiting an October court date.
