Stefanie Cohen, a professional boxer and renowned powerlifting world record holder, is facing serious charges after allegedly hacking into her ex-boyfriend’s laptop and sharing nude photos of his new partner in an attempt to “expose and humiliate her.”
The 32-year-old athlete, known for her remarkable achievements in powerlifting, including 25 world records, is accused of several offenses, including felony unauthorized access to a computer, misdemeanor sexual cyber-harassment, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest without violence.
Cohen, also known as Stefanie Cohen Magarici, reportedly gained access to her former partner’s laptop, which he had left at a shared residence in March 2022.
Utilizing his Apple iCloud account, Cohen allegedly discovered nude photos of his new girlfriend and proceeded to share them in a group chat with the woman and others.
According to the victim, Cohen explicitly stated that her intention was to expose and shame her.
The incident was reported to Miami detectives by the victim and Cohen’s ex-boyfriend in November 2023, leading to Cohen’s arrest at her Coconut Grove residence on Tuesday.
However, she allegedly resisted arrest, physically engaging with officers and damaging the squad car’s locking system.
Following her hearing, Cohen was granted a $3,300 bond and instructed to maintain distance from her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend. She is scheduled to appear in court again on June 27.
Despite her legal troubles, Cohen boasts an impressive athletic career, with a boxing record of 4-1-1 and numerous powerlifting accolades.
As a 25-time world record holder in powerlifting, she has set remarkable benchmarks in the squat, total, and deadlift for the 123-pound weight class, while competing from 2015 to 2020.
Hailing from Venezuela, Cohen’s athletic prowess has garnered significant attention and admiration in the sports world.
