Liberals and BLM movement supporters are in an uproar over the latest incident that occurred during a car chase.
A 15 year old boy, Vito Corleone, and two others tried to outrun the police while on their way to a car meetup. Two cars, a Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger, sitting at a traffic light caught the attention of the authorities patrolling.
A chase then ensued on Jan. 16th when authorities spotted that one of the vehicles, a Dodge Charger, was stolen.
Police gave chase to both Dodges after the drivers ignored orders to stop and sped off.
The Charger managed to escape, but the Challenger crashed through a fence and its three occupants, including Vito, who bolted. Two of them fled, while Vito was shot.
Vito is being treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital from his bullet wound. The shot hit him in the back of his neck and left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Many are standing up for Vito calling it another case of racial profiling and police brutality. However, others are saying this isn’t the 15 year old boys first offense. The police were just doing their jobs and trying to control the situation. Vito and the other two boys shouldn’t have ran from the police and instead should have pulled over and cooperated. They were obviously trying to avoid being caught for other reasons.
Vito also reportedly faces charges for failing to appear in court late last year from 2020 arrests by different law enforcement agencies for attempted burglary and robbery.
Vito’s attorney Jarlens Princilis stated that the bullet struck the teen in the back of the neck as he was fleeing.
“It says to me that he was not facing the officer. It says to me that he was trying to get away from the officer and also says to me that it is impossible to attack someone if your back is facing them,” Princilis said.
Police also recovered a handgun on the ground, as well as another pistol and an assault rifle inside the crashed Challenger.
“I did not get the chance to question him about the gun. He’s still regaining his memory after the incident,” Princilis told the station, adding that his client was not driving at the time of the attempted traffic stop.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation and is currently still looking at all evidence and analyzing exactly what took place and the reason why Vito was shot.
Is a traffic stop or even speeding worth taking a Life?????
This was far more than a traffic stop or even speeding. This is the type of crime that Police Officers have taken an oath to protect the public from high risk criminals that if gone uncaptured can lead to further death and destruction. This type of criminal is not looked at by race, gender, or religious beliefs when making a decision on how to stop them (if they refuse) and if deadly force is warranted. Your comment is an attempt to underscore the level of crime and seriousness of his actions. Suppose Vito Corleone was not shot, came to stopped vehicles at a traffic light, and grabbed your mother awaiting the light to change. He demanded she move to the passenger seat so he could get in, attempt to flee the scene and use your mother for a hostage. Then she refuses, he shoots her dead, pushes her to the passenger side and speeds off. A Police chase ensues and Vito Corleone runs a red light, hits a pedestrian, and slams into a school bus unloading 6 year old’s. The pedestrian dies on impact, 2 of the school bus children also die (and one of them happens to be your daughter), 5 school bus children are rushed to the hospital emergency room (scarred for life, but survive).
Certainly, none of us have a crystal ball we can view for what would happen if Vito Corleone had not been stopped by a bullet to the neck; but, the outcome of the situation was certainly in Vito Corleone’s hands to make the right decision, he failed, he was shot (paralyzed for life) and has no one to blame but himself. Vito’s attorney has no one to blame but her client, Vito Corleone; but, she makes a feeble attempt to blame the Police for doing their job of keeping the public safe.
I commend the Officer who delivered the shot that stopped Vito Corleone, and would still commend the Officer that delivered the shot to Vito Corleone if Vito was any other race, gender, or had different religious beliefs than Vito. It strictly has to do with right, wrong, and the level of threat from the criminal.
Absolutely! The ones that got away will commit other crimes. Mark my words. I wish I would be proved wrong, but I’m not that optimistic.
Not exactly the Godfather.
Just maybe they shouldn’t have stolen the car, just maybe they shouldn’t have ran from the police and just maybe they shouldn’t have had GUNS.JUST SAYING
When a criminal commits a crime, disobeys the directions of the Police Officers, and runs from Police, they are not acting like their life matters. They are participating in a crime of high risk of being shot and should not be surprised when they do. These kind of criminals probably had parents that left their children to raise themselves with no attempt to teach them the understanding of right and wrong because their parents had no understanding themselves (can’t teach what you don’t know). If this person happens to be black, it takes the wind out of the sail of the phrase “Black Lives Matter”. There is no doubt that educated, functional black members of society value their lives and don’t engage themselves in crime. The school drop outs, drug addicted, crime committing black members of society obviously don’t care about their lives and should not be supported by the “Black Lives Matter” movement or people come to the belief that “Black Lives Matters” are simply nothing more than words with no meaning, used by uneducated people incapable of assessing a situation. Media Stations should not give them air time. People should not feel sorry for them.
They had 3 guns. They may have been planning on tahking several lives.
They had 3 guns. They were planning to take lives themself.
absolutely correct!
Who gives a cat’s butt what the Liberals or BLM think. I appreciate the police for keeping us safe.
This a young man who made a lot of bad decisions, and for that, he’s paralyzed. I’m sure that the officer didn’t attempt to shot him in the neck, and in the heat of battle, the neck shot was made. What were these kid doing that they had to run, but more importantly, what in hell did they need three guns? Where did they obtain them, since they couldn’t legally purchase them, because of their age. Where did the guns come from and how were they obtained. Wasn’t one of the vehicles on the cop’s alert sheet as stolen? That is what they were responding to. Don’t blame the police for doing their jobs. I don’t know of any trooper/officer wanting to pull their service weapon, that is the last thing any of them want. People, if you want to place a blame somewhere, put it on the parents.
