A Texas high school coach is recovering after getting jumped by a group of middle schoolers after school.
A disturbing video of the attack that happened Thursday was shared with FOX 26 Houston. It shows students chase down the coach at Langham Creek High School, part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, before students punch the coach, and he falls to the ground.
“I heard there were kids doing donuts and stuff, causing a ruckus with their dirt bikes,” student Logan Wisniewski said. “The coach wasn’t happy with it. He asked them politely to stop doing that. The kids weren’t having that, so they decided to jump him.”
The video of the attack was the talk of the high school Friday, after many students had seen it.
There was reportedly a school shooting threat posted on social media after the coach was attacked.
A district spokesperson couldn’t say how the coach is doing, but people familiar with the incident say he’s recovering.
“I was shocked,” student Xavier Houston said. “I kind of didn’t want to go to school today. I was really trying to see if I could go home.”
A letter sent home to Langham Creek High School parents Friday from principal Jose Martinez reads:
“Our administrative team is aware of a video circulating that involves several Aragon Middle School students in an incident at Langham Creek High on Thursday, February 10th. We worked collaboratively with the Aragon administration and the CFISD police department to complete a thorough investigation, and the juvenile suspects were identified and taken into custody. To preserve the integrity of the investigation, please refrain from engaging in discussions surrounding the incident with students and community members. The incident that took place is extremely unacceptable and will be disciplined according to the CFISD Student Code of Conduct.
“Our team is also aware of social media posts today with threats to our campus. The CFPD police department is investigating, and we have implemented additional security measures. Remind your students that any information regarding school safety should be shared with administrators immediately. We continue to work diligently to maintain a safe school environment for every student and staff member. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.”
Not talk about it … that is very unrealistic. Actually, students need to talk about it. I would think they would be traumatized by just learning about it but also actually seeing the video.
The students involved in attacking the coach should be expelled from school and be compelled to retake the grades they are in again next year because they feel they are above the law and will do whatever suits their reckless behavior. They must be held accountable for their actions and not be allowed to pass go until they pay for their unwise actions.
First, arrest the punks who beat on the coach; Second, try them as adults, if not, they need to go to juvenile detention; while in detention, the will start the school year over, they will receive no credit for this academic year. As far as the Coach, sue the hell out of the families.
Sue the parents an file charges against the students. Absolutely.
I think that the parents of these students be held accountable along with their kids that committed this act of violence. I think these kids should be exspelled from school. Apparently they have not been taught any ground rules in the home. People in this world are going crazy.
The morons chasing him are black. While blacks, about 15% of the population commit about 60%
of all violent crimes in the U.S., one really can’t say that a person committing any particular crime
is black, without being called a racist. Too bad that so few have fathers to give an example of
intelligent living, self-respect, ETHICS. I understand that in those street gangs they actually
really resent anyone who has a father.
WHY does this even merit discussion? A crime (actually several) was committed. It was witnessed, even filmed. It should be prosecuted (and it’s a “slam dunk” if it is). The students participating should also be expelled from school. Both the children and their parents should be sued civilly for damages as well as for punitive damages. In short, people should be held responsible for their actions. When did that become an issue? When did that require discussion? What the Hell is wrong with America that this isn’t obvious? Sheesh…
No one is above the law, no one, including top ranking politicians and corporations.
first due process, not skin color. all the students involved in the assault should be termindated immediately , charge with feloniy assault or atempted murder on a person of trust. this needs a clear message to all students in that state. and the nation. armed security at all schools in that state. discipline the principal and vice principal , due process is the law.
this is just like college students hazing or tying kids to live rail lines. they all to journal there behavior. these kids are not thugs because they are black. the price to pay for this behavior falls on all of us.
lets pray for better. restoritive justice, and a better schools. tax up for schools.
