AN elected official has been arrested after a reporter who published several condemning claims against him was mysteriously stabbed to death.
Democrat politician Robert Telles, who was formerly the Clark County public administrator, was booked on suspicion of murder Wednesday evening days after journalist Jeff German’s brutal killing.
After authorities arrived at Telles’ home in tactical gear, the elected official was seen being wheeled out on a stretcher.
The arrest that left many in dismay, came a few days after Review-Journal reporter Jeff German, 69, was found stabbed to death outside his home Saturday morning.
Authorities believe German was killed after a violent confrontation Friday night.
Telles, who was an elected Democrat in 2018, lost reelection in June after German published a series of condemning investigative stories.
The journalist had revealed claims that Telles created a hostile work environment and also had engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.
Telles and the accused staff member denied all claims.
German had been working on a follow-up story on Telles the week of his death.
A mysterious video shows the public administrator wearing what appeared to be a white hazmat suit in the wake of German’s death, the Review-Journal revealed.
Local reporters asked if he had a comment on the death in the video, but he refused to reply.
Police had a major breakthrough in the case after releasing an image of a vehicle they believe was tied to the reporter’s death.
Review-Journal later captured images of Telles standing in the driveway of his home next to a vehicle that matched the description.
The vehicle match prompted detectives to interview Telles while searching his home.
The search eventually led to the chilling stretcher-bound arrest.
“The arrest of Robert Telles is at once an enormous relief and outrage for the Review-Journal newsroom,” said Executive Editor Glenn Cook.
“We are relieved Telles is in custody and outraged that a colleague appears to have been killed for reporting on an elected official.
“We thank Las Vegas police for their urgency and hard work and for immediately recognizing the terrible significance of Jeff’s killing.
Now, hopefully, the Review-Journal, the German family, and Jeff’s many friends can begin the process of mourning and honor a great man and a brave reporter.”
The democrats are killing this country so I guess the next step is killing us.
Well that next step started a couple of yrs ago when the planned release of the China Virus aka covid was unleashed on the world. Remember Obama and his cohorts (one of which is in the white house now) we’re very involved in the research and development of these virus strands in the lab in Wuhan. Funny, I may be wrong, but I don’t recall seeing many democrats brutally or mysteriously murdered by Republicans but there have been many, many Republicans murdered in very mysterious ways by democrats. The Clinton killings
Your’e so right
I know a lot of people like him who think they are entitled to keep their positions or government jobs with their big pay without doing their duties. Many work for the VA. Things were different when Trump was president. Now a lot of federal employees are simply slacking off.
