A Houston, Texas man has been arrested for killing a father and his 2-year old son.
Bolanle Fadairo, 38, is charged with two counts of murder and one count of tampering with evidence in connection with the death of 38-year-old Michael Essien and his son.
Essien was discovered dead in a convenience store parking lot around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday with multiple gunshot wounds.
“Investigators learned the victim met Fadairo at the location and the two spoke briefly before he then shot the victim,” states a Houston Police Department press release.
It was later learned that Fadairo and Essien argued before the shooting.
Fadairo then entered Essien’s black Chevrolet Traverse and fled the scene with the 2-year old boy in a car seat in the third row of the SUV.
Police said, “We received a call from a woman around 6:35 p.m. to report her husband and 2-year-old son missing. We then found the vehicle at about 7:10 p.m., and officers on the scene broke the SUV’s window, only to discover the 2-year old victim unresponsive inside. We have yet to determine the cause of the boys death. However we expect that it was due to heat exhaustion”
Fadairo allegedly gave police a statement admitting he shot Essien. He stated Essien owed him money and claims he had no knowledge of the boy being in the rear seat. He also admitted deleting incriminating text messages on his cellphone between himself and Essien.
Family members are devastated by the loss of the father and son.
“Tell Houston, tell the whole world that I want my nephew back. He’s only 2 years old. He does not know how to hurt a fly,” the boy’s aunt Jessie Okon said. “My brother has always been a peaceful man. I need my brother back.”
Family members said Essien recently became a new father and worked as a security guard after attending college.
“Michael never argued with anybody,” Essien’s sister Jessie said. “Michael would take his shirt off and give to others. He gives his last dime to other people. All I need is my brother.”
Fadairo was arrested Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday and has not yet entered pleas.
Yeah, so what’s the news?
Glad it happened in Texas. Next stop Death Row.
Where you have a suspect like this and all the evidence, right after the trial have the hanging. I am serious. I don’t want to reabilitate this man. I want him gone so taxpayers don’t have to support him for life. Then let others hear an fear. It goes like this: trial at 11:15, guilty at 11:20, tell him about the Lord Jesus Christ so he is able to get his soul right at 11:25, hanging at 11:30. Break for lunch at 11:35. This man took the life of two very important people, cut short due to his selfishness. What is so hard about this?
