An avid fan ready to celebrate his team at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, fell to his death from an escalator on Sunday evening.
The man, who remains unidentified at this time, took a tumble from the escalator at 4:45 p.m. after the Steelers-Jets game ended.
Paramedics provided aid on the scene and then quickly transferred him to a local area hospital in critical condition.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said, “After seeking medical care, the man unfortunately was unable to make it. He sadly passed away due to his severe injuries.”
“We are aware of an unfortunate incident that occurred inside Acrisure Stadium today,” Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said in a statement. “We are working with local authorities and helping their investigation into the matter. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the guest’s family.”
Authorities are continuing to investigate and collect statements from nearby witnesses pertaining to the incident.
The spectators’ death comes less than three months after a man fell from an escalator rail inside the Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field during The Weeknd’s show and died on July 14. Police at the time said the man’s death appeared to be accidental.

Get back in line or I swear to God, I’ll toss your ass over the side!
