Passengers are becoming more and more hostile during flights as a United Airlines flight attendant became the victim of an irate passenger during a flight to Chicago and ended up in the hospital.
A woman holding a small child was shown screaming and being told to “step back” by an attendant aboard a flight from San Francisco International Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport in a video posted to Twitter.
“Where is it?” the woman yelled out after screaming in the plane’s aisle, the video captured and uploaded by Peter Kondelis shows.
“Ma’am, we are landing,” a female flight attendant told her.
Then the situation turned for the worst as the passenger became frantic.
“Sarah, step back,” the flight attendant could be heard telling the woman repeatedly, with more urgency in her voice each time. Another flight attendant ran down the aisle to aid her colleague.
Chicago police said, “We were called for a disturbance onboard Flight 476 and responded to the flight’s gate at O’Hare Airport at about 6 a.m.”
“Three people, including a flight attendant, were taken to Resurrection Hospital for observation,” police added.
“A disruptive customer on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago was removed by law enforcement upon landing on Sunday, and one member of the flight attendant crew was taken to a hospital for evaluation,” a spokesperson for United Airlines said in a statement. “We’re grateful to our crew for handling this difficult situation with professionalism and for putting the safety of our team and our customers first.”
Authorities nor the airline company has made it clear why the three people were taken to the hospital. However, it was stated the injuries were not severe and that the FBI is also involved in the investigation.
